Karly Meola, Line Producer Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Karly Meola graduated from Stonehill College with a Major in Communications and a Concentration in Film: Media Criticism. She also went on to complete Boston University’s BU in LA Program in the Fall of 2004, where she worked for Morgan Freeman's Revelations Entertainment in development, and on several independent productions. Karly officially moved to California in the spring of 2004, where she started working as a Casting Associate/Director for reality television. She soon transitioned into film production and worked as an assistant on a Weitz Brother's film, “American Dreamz” and on a Fox Searchlight trailer in the art department for “Psychic Driving.” She met renowned actress Virginia Madsen on the set of “The Number 23” and found that they shared a like-mindedness for stories they wanted to tell through film, and for creating opportunities for women in the industry. Karly came aboard as Virginia’s personal assistant, and they have worked together ever since. Karly and Virginia recently partnered to form Title IX Productions during the production of “I Know A Woman Like That,” which the two women are producing and Virginia’s mother, Elaine Madsen, is directing. Other projects on the company slate include a remake of 80’s classic “Electric Dreams,” and “The Bitch Posse,” based on the novel by Martha O’Connor. |
